Guidelines for Authors

 

These guidelines are intended to ensure uniformity, academic rigor, and ethical standards in all submissions to the Purbanchal University International Journal of Science and Technology.


1. Manuscript Categories Accepted

Authors may submit manuscripts in the following categories:

  • Original Research Articles
  • Review Articles
  • Case Studies (if relevant to science/technology)

2. General Manuscript Structure

All manuscripts should follow the IMRaD structure unless specified otherwise.

2.1 Title Page

  • Title of the article (concise and informative)
  • Full names of authors
  • Institutional affiliations
  • Email of corresponding author
  • ORCID (optional)

 

2.2 Abstract

  • 200–300 words
  • Briefly describe objectives, methodology, key findings, and conclusion

2.3 Keywords

  • 4–6 relevant terms
  • Must be specific and searchable

2.4 Main Text Structure (IMRaD)

  1. Introduction – background, problem statement, significance
  2. Methodology – procedures, algorithms, models, tools
  3. Results – findings, tables, figures
  4. Discussion – interpretation, comparison, implications
  5. Conclusion – summary and future scope

 

2.5 References

  • APA 7 format
  • At least 9 relevant citations
  • Use of reference management tools is encouraged

3. (a)Formatting Requirements

  • Manuscript length: upto 8000words (research articles)
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
  • Spacing: 2
  • Margins: 1 inch on all sides
  • Figures upto 5 and tables upto 5; must be high resolution and properly labeled
  • Submit manuscript as Microsoft Word (.docx)/LaTex

 (b) Article Template & Layout

Components:

  • Title Page (Title, Authors, Affiliations, Email)
  • Abstract (250–300 words)
  • Keywords (4–6 words)
  • Maximum 8000 words
  • IMRaD format
  • Figures: 5(Max), tables: 5(Max) with captions
  • Conclusion
  • References (APA)
  • CRedit Taxonomy to be followed

Decision:
Create a standard Word/LaTeX template for all submissions


4. Ethical Standards & Plagiarism

  • Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere
  • Plagiarism limit: Maximum 20% (excluding references)
  • AI-generated text limit: Maximum 20%
  • Failure to comply may result in rejection.

5. Submission Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted via the official journal email or submission portal (to be announced)
  • Authors will receive an acknowledgment within 48 hours
  • Manuscript ID will be issued for tracking

6. Review Process

  • All submissions undergo double-blind peer review
  • At least two reviewers evaluate each manuscript
  • Review outcomes may be:
    • Accept
    • Accept with minor revisions
    • Major revisions needed
    • Reject

Authors must revise the manuscript within the given timeframe and provide a “Response to Reviewers” document.


7. Author Responsibilities

  • Ensure accuracy of data and citations
  • Declare any conflicts of interest
  • Confirm all authors have read and approved the final manuscript
  • Ensure figures/tables do not violate copyright
  • Maintain transparency in methodology and results

8. Publication Charges

  • No publication charges for the first issue (decision may be revised later)

9. Copyright & Licensing

  • Authors retain copyright
  • Journal receives publication rights

10. Final Proof & Publication

  • Authors must check and approve final proofs
  • No major changes allowed at the proofreading stage
  • Articles will be published online in PDF format under the printed form/journal’s website tab
